
This guide is designed to facilitate the determination of appropriate work arrangements that ensure effective execution of each position’s duties and responsibilities toward achieving the Lab’s mission while providing individual flexibility when appropriate for the work and individual work-life balance. Each supervisor must determine and document which of the four available work arrangements is appropriate for the work being done (Full-Time On-Site Work, Hybrid Work, Telework, or Remote Work). Once this is determined, the supervisor must enter an approved work mode into the Work Mode Assignment Tool to document the work mode. Establishing Work Arrangement Process Overview
01. | Supervisor and Employee each review the Flexible Work Guidelines and “Process Guide.” |
02. | Supervisor and employee have a conversation to discuss work mode arrangement and expectations. |
03. | Supervisor engages relevant parties (Work Lead, stakeholders, division leadership, etc) to discuss the work arrangement, and obtains any applicable approvals (e.g. Remote Work requires Division Director and ALD approval). |
04. | Supervisor initiates formal assignment of work mode (through Work Mode Assignment Tool) and initiates the notification to the employee for their acknowledgement. |
05. | Employee acknowledges work mode and conditions. |
